For a long time, Ah Xin (played by Chan Wing Yu) has aspired to be a stage actor, even giving up everything to star in the famous classical play "Romeo and Juliet," losing his entire fortune. However, fate does not favor him, and Ah Xin's efforts and all-or-nothing gamble ultimately end in failure, leading him and the leading actress, Bai Jia (played by Anita Mui), to a bittersweet farewell from the stage. Afterward, Ah Xin finally abandons his dreams and starts trying to act in some popular dramas, unexpectedly finding success. His friend, Hua Zai (played by Danny Chan), shifts his focus to work after marrying his wife Hui Kang (played by Ha Yu). Feeling neglected, Hui Kang decides to leave home. During a performance, Ah Xin meets the beautiful actress Piao Hong (played by Cherie Chung) and falls in love at first sight, only to discover that Piao Hong has her heart set on the already married Hua Zai.
