This film is an absurd comedy directed by Terry Jones, a member of the famous British comedy group Monty Python. Set in Palestine, it tells the story of an ordinary man who is mistakenly thought to be the Messiah (the Jewish savior they long for), leading to many humorous situations. As with all Monty Python films, Terry Jones employs a wealth of absurd and nonsensical humor, and the movie, based on the Bible, is filled with subversion and mockery from beginning to end. For devout religious individuals, this film is indeed a tremendous disaster.
