It’s Christmas time again, and as cheerful, warm Christmas songs play, people rush into supermarkets to grab holiday goods, even resorting to fighting, losing all decorum in the process. After a chaotic battle, Tom (played by Adam Scott) and Sarah (played by Toni Collette), the couple, manage to return home with their troubled children, Beth (Stefania LaVie Owen) and Max (Emjay Anthony), after a tough shopping trip. At dinner time, relatives of various personalities arrive promptly, bringing both liveliness to the home and significant annoyances to the hosts. Young Max has just gotten into a fight because other children claimed Santa Claus is not real, and provocations from relatives' kids at the dinner table further fuel his anger. That night, a strange ice storm descends, and a mysterious creature appears, seemingly intent on delivering harsh punishment to foolish humans who do not believe in the existence of Santa Claus... This film is adapted from German folklore.
