In the northwestern desert, in the small border town of Yeshangguan, there is a dilapidated sheep farm. Due to frequent harassment by horse bandits, the villagers suffer greatly. After discussion, the whole village decides to send a grassroots man (played by Qiu Lin) and Fan Jian (played by Luo Jiaying) to the town to invite a swordsman to protect the sheep farm. Facing numerous setbacks, the grassroots man and Fan Jian, in desperation, meet the down-and-out old swordsman, Lonely Seeking Defeat (played by Liang Jiaran). After years of seclusion, Lonely Seeking Defeat agrees to help save the sheep farm at the plea of the grassroots man and Fan Jian, but requires two other swordsmen as assistants. Thus, the limping, unsuccessful swordsman Ghost Foot Six (played by Li Yu) and the rookie swordsman Su Gaier (played by Shi Xiaolong) join the team to save the sheep farm, and the three set off toward the farm. Directed by the renowned director Yuan Hongbing, the martial arts comedy film "The Legend of the Swordsman" features a unique cast, with "Super Girl" He Jie and "Kung Fu Kid" Shi Xiaolong playing the leads, while veterans like Luo Jiaying, Liang Jiaran, and Li Yu willingly take on supporting roles.
