Garfield's life from childhood to adulthood is immersed in – high-calorie food, sleeping, teasing stupid dogs, and the affection of his owner Jon Arbuckle (played by Breckin Meyer). Garfield believes this is the perfect life. Until one day, when Jon takes Garfield to the pet hospital and adopts a puppy named Odie at the request of a beautiful veterinarian, Garfield's life is completely changed. Odie's arrival means sharing food and Jon's affection with Garfield, and what makes Garfield even more jealous is that Jon takes Odie on dates with the beautiful veterinarian instead of him. Garfield wishes he could kick Odie out of the house. One night, Garfield locks Odie outside, intending only to punish him, but unexpectedly, Odie goes missing. Jon searches everywhere for Odie but to no avail. Through investigation, Garfield learns that Odie has been captured by a cruel dog trainer. Garfield decides to take action and sets out alone to rescue Odie.
