The young master of a family-run beef offal shop, Jiang Tongcai (played by Tony Leung), meets the feisty Shaotang (played by Sammi Cheng) in a traffic accident. Initially enemies, the two become intimate after a night of drinking. When Shaotang has a falling out with her father and is ousted from her job by a superior, she unexpectedly encounters Tongcai in the hospital, where she deceives him into thinking she is there for an abortion. Tongcai becomes very anxious, but upon discovering that he is a good person, Shaotang reveals the truth, leading them to reconcile. Tongcai then takes her home to stay temporarily. Together, they navigate a difficult situation caused by Shaotang, and their feelings for each other grow. However, the return of Tongcai's official girlfriend (played by Koo Ming-Wai) becomes an obstacle, forcing Shaotang to leave. Yet fate brings the two lovers back together. Will they be able to stay together?
