Abagon (played by Louis de Funès) is a well-known miser. After losing his wife at a young age, he leads a quiet life with his daughter Alice (played by Claire Dupray) and son Cléante (played by Pierre Aussedat). Living off high-interest loans, Abagon buries his hard-earned gold coins in the garden, which he considers the safest and most secure place.
