During the Republic of China, a young man named Huang Liang selling twisted doughnuts on the outskirts of Feng Tian and his wife Jia Ling suddenly encounter the local "Godfather" Fourth Master demanding repayment of a usurious loan. Originally, Huang Liang aimed to provide a good life for his wife Jia Ling, but under Fourth Master's pressure and despite Jia Ling's opposition, he decides to rush to Feng Tian city to find opportunities to earn money quickly to repay the debt, only to get caught up in a series of troubles.
