"The Mexican" is not a person, but an antique handgun. Accompanying it is a legend, with a tragic ending to the story, leaving the gun with dangerous ominous signs. Every person who possesses it meets with misfortune. Jerry (Brad Pitt) is now faced with a choice: either take on a task from a gangster boss to travel to Mexico and retrieve this gun, or obediently listen to his beautiful girlfriend Samantha (Julia Roberts) and cut ties with the underworld, becoming an upright person again. Of course, offending the gangsters is tantamount to inviting disaster, and after much consideration, Jerry decides to retrieve "The Mexican" and complete this task before washing his hands of the affair. After a long journey to Mexico, Jerry experiences a twisted quest to find the gun. The mysterious curse of "The Mexican" gradually reveals itself — Samantha is kidnapped by the gangster boss to threaten Jerry into bringing back the gun in one piece. Jerry's path is fraught with the peril of gangster forces, the ancient curse of the handgun, and the true essence of love waiting for him to discover.
