A 33-year-old unmarried Hong Kong police officer, Si Tu Mu Lian (played by Sammi Cheng), has been troubled about her marriage. Her boyfriend's promise from ten years ago has now become a joke among her colleagues. One day, the son of a smuggling group leader, Huo Qing Song (played by Eason Chan), is kidnapped, and Si Tu Mu Lian is ordered to handle the case. However, the Huo family shows a non-cooperative attitude to avoid being prosecuted by the police for their smuggling activities. At the same time, Si Tu Mu Lian discovers she is pregnant. The conflict unfolds as both legal and illegal forces converge in a mansion, with the Huo family harboring secret plans while news comes from mainland police about joint investigations. As a "leftover woman" and a police officer, can Si Tu Mu Lian solve the challenges she faces?
