K-911 is the best police dog in the United States. Together with his handler, they have solved numerous major cases, making K-911 a thorn in the side of many criminals. Drug lord Sonny (Paul Sorvino) is one of them; having previously fallen into K-911's paws, he swears to eliminate this police dog. To protect K-911, the handler decides to send him to a police dog base for safety. However, Sonny has already planted an insider in the police force, and K-911 has unwittingly fallen into a trap. Fortunately, K-911 possesses exceptional intelligence. He uncovers the conspiracy, escapes an assassination attempt, and hides in the car of an ordinary mailman named Gordy (David Arquette), where he encounters a boy named James (Angus T. Jones) who loves small animals.
