This film is the directorial debut of Whitney Cummings, who also wrote and stars in it. The movie is based on the book by neurologist Louann Brizendine, which reveals the inner workings of couples' brains at different stages of their relationship and the complex forces that arise from them. Whitney Cummings plays a seemingly meaningless neuroscientist named Julia, whose research on female brain biochemistry is illustrated through three couples: newlyweds Zoe and Greg Griffin, whose career issues permeate their relationship; Lisa and Steven, who are trying to add color to their monotonous marriage; and Lexi, who can't resist wanting to change her boyfriend Adam. Meanwhile, when a handsome new subject joins her study, Julia’s own synapses begin to fire…
