Tom from Oregon (Dax Shepard), Jerry (Matthew Lillard), Dan (Seth Green), and Billy are four friends who grew up together, loving adventure and excitement. When they were twenty, Billy went on a trip and bid farewell to the other three. Ten years later, Billy tragically dies in an accident during his travels, and the three old friends reunite at the funeral. As they face various troubles in their lives at thirty, they return to their childhood treehouse and discover a "treasure map" left by Billy. Intrigued by Billy's wonderful travel experiences, they decide to embark on a journey to fulfill their childhood dream. Along the way, they encounter a giant bear that views Dan as its child, a duo of thugs hoarding large amounts of marijuana in the valley, and two beautiful girls who consider themselves naturalists.
