Teacher Wang Hongchen (played by Wang Yin) has not remarried since the death of his wife, raising his daughter and two sons alone. His daughter, Wang Jinhui (played by You Min), is very understanding; she knows that it's not easy for her father to make a living and always tries to share his worries in different ways. Her boyfriend has proposed to her several times, but she has declined each time.
