This film tells a bizarre yet humorous story. Joyce is somewhat socially awkward; she works as a receptionist in a small town hotel. Just when her life seems fine, an accident occurs when a careless worker accidentally shoots a nail into her head. The nail compresses one of her nerves, leading to a strange illness that leaves her insatiable. However, due to her social awkwardness, she must engage in social interactions to satisfy her intense sexual desires. Ultimately, Joyce, feeling helpless, packs her bags and decides to go to Washington State for treatment. In New York, she encounters a seemingly young and promiscuous congressman (played by Jake Gyllenhaal), who has a hidden agenda. Learning of her peculiar illness, the congressman exploits her beauty and sexual desires as political capital for his own benefit, triggering a series of conspiracies. Will the innocent Joyce be able to navigate through the conspiracy and heal her strange illness?
