The foolish thieves, Glasses (played by Zhang Yu) and Big Head (played by Pan Binlong), rob a mobile phone store and, in their panic, flee into the home of a wheelchair-bound single woman, Jiaqi (played by Ren Suxi). Jiaqi has long lost her desire to live and forcefully demands the two thieves to kill her. Meanwhile, a real estate developer's cash flow has collapsed, leaving security guard Ma Xianyong (played by Chen Jianbin) to negotiate with debt collectors. Ma was once a highly accomplished auxiliary police officer, but everything he had seemed promising was ruined by a car accident just when he was about to be formally appointed. Not long ago, he dug up a shotgun, intending to hand it over to his former police friend for a reward, only to find it had been replaced with a water gun. The mobile phone robbery case, which had made the news, made Ma Xianyong realize that the shotgun was now in the hands of the robber.
A long day unfolds, and all ages associated with the incident are caught in turmoil and anguish. They are insignificant nameless ones, yet they genuinely feel the heavy pressure from fate...
