Christian (played by Claes Bang) starts a new life with his young daughter (played by Lilianne Mardon) after divorcing his wife. He works as a curator in an art gallery, and recently he is planning an installation exhibition called "The Square" to promote the positive idea of equality and mutual assistance among everyone. After an unexpected incident, Christian's phone is stolen. Through GPS tracking, he finds the apartment where the thief lives. Late at night, he slips an accusation letter under the door of every apartment in the building, not realizing this thoughtless action will lead to big trouble for him. To promote the exhibition, Christian enlists a PR agent, but these two unreliable men quickly turn the exhibition into chaos. To make matters worse, a brief romantic encounter with journalist Anne (played by Elisabeth Moss) leads her to aggressively pursue him.
