Fang Lijuan (played by Miriam Yeung) has always wanted to be a police officer, and after several failures, she finally got into the police academy. Although she studies hard there, she is not cut out to be a police officer, and besides her poor grades, she often becomes a source of comedy. After graduating, she is assigned to the lost and found department, which makes her feel quite dissatisfied.
Just as the major crimes unit is planning a case to capture a gang, they need a rookie undercover, and Lijuan accidentally gets appointed to carry out this task. During the operation, she forms a bond with the gang leader, Qu Haiwen (played by Daniel Wu). Initially, Haiwen thinks Lijuan's background is pitiful and intends to help her. Unexpectedly, the two develop feelings for each other; with Haiwen's thoughtful care, Lijuan feels torn. She did not expect that their pretend relationship would turn into something real. What decision will Fang Lijuan ultimately make?
