The story continues from the previous installment, where the dog Beethoven and Lucy finally come together to lead a happy life. Lucy gives birth to four adorable puppies, and the family enjoys their time together. However, these four puppies bring trouble to the children, as their dad would go crazy if he found out that there are suddenly four more little ones in the house. Though Mr. Bruno (Kevin Dunn) receives a scolding from his dad, he kindly takes in Beethoven and Lucy's puppies, and the family heads to a quiet village for a relaxing vacation. Unbeknownst to them, Bruno's ex-wife Regina (Debi Mazar) has her eyes on the puppies, wanting to steal them and sell them for a profit. Upon learning of this, Beethoven takes action first, leading his wife and children to hide in the mountains, followed closely by Regina.
