Marnie Watson (played by Famke Janssen) is married to Mike (played by Michael Paré), a police officer who is corrupt outside and abuses his wife at home. Unable to endure the long-term abuse, Marnie ultimately kills her husband. After spending seven years in prison, well-behaved Marnie is allowed to serve the remaining six months of her sentence at home in New York, during which she must wear an electronic ankle monitor to ensure she does not exceed a 100-foot range. However, this limited freedom does not bring her much joy; her movements are restricted by the ankle monitor, her late husband’s partner Jankowski (played by Bobby Cannavale) is filled with hatred towards her, and the long-abandoned house is filled with complex, conflicting memories. Marnie cleans the house in an attempt to start a new life. But she slowly realizes that not only is her painful past holding her back, but also the restless spirit of her husband lingers around, tormenting her…
