Angela (played by Ye Qianwen) arrives in Hong Kong from Canada to conduct field research for her thesis on "Chinese Superstition." Shortly after landing, she encounters the "lecherous" policeman Chow Fat (played by Chow Yun-fat), but fortunately, he does not pursue her further. To find an affordable place to stay, Angela meets the smooth-talking car dealer Hansom Wang (played by Huang Baiming). Hansom is even more brazen and, after helping Angela settle in, he uses the pretext of helping her understand the culture of superstition to persistently pursue her. Angela's rented room, while cheap, is actually a haunted house where a singer committed suicide due to a love triangle, and the vengeful spirit lingers in the room for a long time. Hansom Wang is tormented by the female ghost in the haunted house, and Chow Fat, concerned for Angela's safety, gets involved in the matter. Both try to convince Angela to move out, but she remains stubbornly unmoved by the vengeful spirit and ultimately becomes possessed by the female ghost. To save Angela, the car dealer and the policeman enlist a master to help confront the ghost…
