In Spain in 1876, during the last Carlist War, a girl named Amaya from an orphanage is rescued by a mysterious woman living deep in the forest. Severely injured and on the brink of death, Amaya thinks she sees an angel taking her to heaven, but by dawn the next day, she quickly discovers that this stranger has given her immortality in exchange for her companionship.
