The film "Gypsy Rose," adapted from a stage play, tells the story of an overly passionate performer, Rose, who is ahead of her time. She invests all her dreams in her youngest daughter, June, taking her on stage from an early age, hoping to cultivate her into a big star. However, June, tired of her mother's overbearing control, elopes with her boyfriend. Rose then places her hopes on her eldest daughter, Louise, but under the pressures of reality, Louise ends up as a leading stripper. There is also a 1993 remake of the same-named film "Gypsy Rose."
