In ancient China one thousand years ago, only a swordsman (Tommi Eronen) who is the son of a blacksmith can kill the demon (Taishen Cheng) that harms the world. After killing the demon, he can achieve immortality. Before dueling with the demon, the swordsman falls in love with a beautiful woman (Zhang Jingchu). For love, the swordsman fights against his fate, giving up the chance to kill the demon, hoping to be reborn and reunite with the one he loves dearly. In modern Finland, a millennium later, the swordsman finally realizes his wish. However, upon learning about his mission from a thousand years ago, he is left wondering what path to take. The first Sino-Finnish co-produced epic love film "Jade Warrior" is adapted from the myth-rich and lyrical Finnish national epic "Kalevala." The film was shot in Finland, Estonia, and the Zhejiang Hengdian Film and Television Base in China. The grand scenes of ancient China combined with the stark modern Finland showcase the mysterious beauty of Finland and the serene texture of ancient Chinese cities to perfection. The action scenes in the film set the rhythm for the emotional story, depicting a grand thousand-year love affair.
