Judah (Martin Landau) is a successful ophthalmologist who has not only established a solid position in academia but is also passionately involved in charity work. To outsiders, Judah and his wife Miriam (Claire Bloom) are undoubtedly a model couple, with a long and stable marriage. However, in reality, Judah has been maintaining a close relationship with a woman named Dolores (Anjelica Huston) for many years. Judah is troubled by the fact that Dolores can no longer tolerate being his secret lover, and her aggressive behavior leads her to threaten to expose their relationship to the world. Besides Judah, Cliff (Woody Allen) faces his own dilemma. His annoying brother-in-law Lester (Alan Alda) wants to shoot a documentary about his life, and Cliff is forced to become the film's director. While enduring Lester's irritating personality, Cliff meets his true love, Holly (Mia Farrow).
