After an eventful night at the high school graduation prom, a year quickly passes. During the summer after their freshman year, Jim (Jason Biggs), Kevin (Thomas Ian Nicholas), Oz (Chris Klein), and Finch (Eddie Kaye Thomas) come together again, along with the somewhat unlikable Steve (Seann William Scott).
