Computer game designer Xu Datong (played by Tony Leung) and his wife Jian Ning (played by Jiang Wenli) have been striving in the United States for eight years, achieving career success. However, an unexpected incident casts a shadow over their happy family: their 5-year-old son falls ill, and the elderly father (played by Zhu Xu) uses traditional Chinese folk scraping therapy to treat his grandson. The couple is subsequently accused of child abuse, with a series of pieces of evidence and witnesses leaving them speechless, as Western medicine fails to understand this traditional Chinese healing method. As a result, both father and son, as well as the couple, are forced to separate. Datong is heartbroken; what can he do to clear his name in the face of the situation involving his son and wife?
