During the reign of Emperor Yongzheng in the Qing Dynasty. At the beginning of his reign, Yongzheng (played by Ye Zhikang) uses poisoned wine to eliminate the assassin group "Blood Droplets" that helped him usurp the throne. Qiu Zhongqi (played by Wang Hua), attending the banquet, notices the clue in the wine and pretends to drink, then turns to spit it into his sleeve.
