Directed by Federico Fellini, this film has rarely been officially screened in China due to its niche appeal. This comedy, made in his later years, is more accessible. The late Marcello Mastroianni and Giulietta Masina play the tap dance partners Bibo and Emily, who once toured as the American dance king and queen "Goldie and Fred". Now, with age setting in, a nationwide special television program invites them to reunite for a performance. These two minor figures in the Italian entertainment scene reflect on their past glories while facing the setbacks of their television appearance during the recording process. By the end of the show, they part ways once again, returning to their ordinary lives. The director pays tribute to the old-fashioned musical performers with a satirical comedic style; despite the somewhat loose and superficial content, the performances of the lead actors are quite remarkable.
