Jerry (played by Ryan Reynolds) is a packer in a factory, living a solitary life with a cat and a dog. To his colleagues, Jerry is optimistic and passionate about his work, but in reality, he suffers from severe schizophrenia and relies on medication to control his condition. Worse still, Jerry isn’t taking his meds! Because once he takes them, he can no longer communicate with his beloved cat and dog at home. Jerry has feelings for Fiona (played by Gemma Arterton), a female colleague in the advertising department. In a strange turn of events, Fiona meets her end at Jerry's hands, and he brings her body home, cutting off her head and hiding it in the fridge. To Jerry's shock, Fiona's head starts talking, pleading with him to find her a companion. Thus, Jerry sets his sights on Fiona's friend, Lisa (played by Anna Kendrick).
