Comic author Yang Chunchun (played by Ying Cai'er) from Taipei frequently encounters misfortune in her love life, and the sales of her work are declining. Yang's father wants Chunchun to accompany him back to the mainland to see the Great Wall, but she refuses. Unexpectedly, Yang's father passes away from a sudden illness while traveling alone to Jiayuguan. On his deathbed, he entrusts Chunchun to find his first love, Xiuqian, whom he met in the mainland. Chunchun suspects that her father was married in the mainland, having done something unforgivable to her mother, and decides to return to her hometown to find out the truth. At this time, a private detective named Fang Mingdi (played by Tong Dawei), who met Yang's father on a train, is commissioned by Yang's mother to guide Chunchun. The two, whose personalities clash, argue upon meeting but have to travel together due to circumstances. In Yang's father's old home under Yanmen Pass, they learn that Xiuqian has married far away in Yinchuan, and they continue their search for Yang's father's past love, while a new romance begins to blossom between them...
