Wu Hanzhong (played by Wu Yaohan) lost his wife early in life and independently raised four children: Xiao Dong (played by Lin Qingxia), Xiao Nan (played by Zhang Manyu), Xiao Xi (played by Qiu Shuzhen), and Xiao Bei (played by Lin Zhiying). After Hanzhong's friend suddenly dies due to illness, he feels the futility of life, so he wants to see his children settle down while he is still alive. He pretends to have a terminal illness, which leads his daughters to bring their boyfriends home. The unmarried daughters have no choice but to find people to pretend to be their boyfriends. Xiao Dong finds a male prostitute, Xie Sha (played by Leung Ka-Fai), Xiao Nan finds a small-time gangster (played by Jacky Cheung), and Xiao Xi finds a pure-hearted guy (played by Zheng Yijian).
