Professor Philip (Robin Williams) is as obsessed with his research as a drug addict is with drugs, constantly busy with his work and having already missed two of his wedding ceremonies. Now, with a third wedding approaching, Philip achieves a significant breakthrough in his research. Unsurprisingly, he misses the wedding once again, leaving his fiancée Sarah (Marcia Gay Harden) waiting in the church with grievances. Philip gazes at his new invention, which he calls the "Flying High Treasure"—a green, gelatinous substance that can overcome gravity; just applying it to any object makes it soar into the air. However, this substance has an elusive characteristic that can play pranks on its users. In order to win back his upset fiancée and save the soon-to-be-closed school, Professor Philip applies the Flying High Treasure to the basketball shoes of the school's team members, resulting in a sweeping victory for the team.
