The club comedy "Wait a minute, Baseball Club! The Daily Life of the Prefectural Kamimune High School Baseball Club," which is serialized in "GOGO Bunch" (Shinchosha) by Takana Yuku, depicting the average daily life of a high school baseball club in a heartwarming manner, is set to be adapted into a live-action film. It has also been revealed that fresh cast members such as Kenta Suga, Yuta Koseki, and Ryosuke Yamamoto will come together for this project. The Prefectural Kamimune High School Baseball Club is neither a powerhouse nor a weak team, but the most average team in Japan. After the final summer of the third years ends, a new daily life begins for the remaining first and second-year players, including Ohori, Akimoto, and Miyata. The three of them tackle their classes, handle the customary menial tasks of the lowest-ranked athletes, and dedicate themselves to baseball. One day, Ohori, who received a failing grade on a retake exam, finds himself in a pinch! If he fails the retake again, he won't be able to participate in the summer training camp!! Will the King of Fools in the baseball club, Hiroki Ohori, successfully clear the retake exam and make it to the training camp? The original work is a comic by Yuku, who also illustrates "Teacher Ti," depicting the daily life of a male nursery teacher. Although it's a baseball club manga, it's a club comedy that can be enjoyed by women as well, portraying the warm aspects of club activities, making it a not-so-intense youth manga. Additionally, all the members of the baseball club are almost handsome, which is a unique feature of a female manga artist. The live-action film adaptation also features a fresh and handsome cast, just like the original work. The role of Hiroki Ohori, known as the King of Fools in the baseball club and characterized by his honesty and straightforwardness, is played by Kenta Suga, who has expanded his activities across movies, dramas, and stage plays, starring in the "ALWAYS Sunset on Third Street" series, "Beast Road," and the hyper-projection play "Haikyuu!!." Also joining the cast is Yuta Koseki, who plays Akimoto Kōhei, a delicate boy with strong opinions on serving tea, known for his roles in "Dandori. Dance☆Drill" and the currently airing "Even if It's a Bit Awkward, I'm Still Alive." Lastly, the role of the natural and easygoing Miyata Nao is played by Ryosuke Yamamoto, known for "Kamen Rider Ghost." The three have their first film collaboration in this work. Koseki reflects, "Since we were in the same learning environment during our student days, it was easy to immerse myself in the role. I think that quality is reflected in the atmosphere of the performance, so I hope everyone looks forward to it!" Yamamoto describes his character, saying, "He's a super easygoing idiot who suddenly starts photosynthesizing in sunny places and has many mysterious behaviors, making him hard to grasp," and shares his message: "I hope that viewers feel energized watching the three lovable and somewhat annoying fools and realize how wonderful friendship is." Suga also adds, "The dazzlingness of being able to put your all into silly things during your student days is beautifully expressed, and more than anything, the adorableness of the three fools naturally made me smile." He shares his impressions after reading the original work, stating, "Although the title includes 'baseball club,' the depiction of baseball doesn't increase in the film adaptation (laughs). It's a relaxed and funny piece." The director of this film is Tadaaki Hohrai, who has directed popular television programs including seasons 1 to 3 of "Gourmet Solitaire" and the high-rated Tsuyoshi Kusanagi-starring drama "The War of Lies."
