The story is set in a fictional near-future society where residents' romantic relationships are strictly controlled. According to regulations, single people are gathered and sent to a hotel where they must find a matching partner within 45 days; those who fail will be transformed into an animal of their choice and exiled to the forest. To extend the 45-day deadline, the single residents in the hotel also hunt other escaped singles in the forest. The protagonist, David (played by Colin Farrell), is sent to the hotel with a group of singles, enduring the harsh rules while actively seeking a partner through various matchmaking events provided by the hotel. As the deadline approaches, David has yet to find a suitable match. After a failed attempt to pair up with a woman, he escapes to the forest, where the runaway singles reside. However, within this refuge of rebellion against the hotel system, there exists an entirely different set of rules...
