There, he meets a student named Susan (Shirley Temple), who is deeply attracted to Richard's mature masculinity and follows him around all day. Although Richard is not interested in Susan, he doesn't reject her enthusiasm because Susan has an older sister, Margaret (Myrna Loy), who catches Richard's attention. Margaret finds Richard to be a playboy and is resistant to his charm. Seeing her sister fall deeper in love worries her, so she decides to sabotage the relationship between Richard and Susan.
