Scholar Ning Caichen (played by Chen Xingxu) goes to the capital to take the imperial exam. One rainy night, he seeks shelter in the abandoned Lanruo Temple, only to encounter the stunning beauty Nie Xiaoqian (played by Li Kaixin).
