In an inconspicuous corner of a lane in Shanghai, a Japanese youth named A Liang (played by Haruma Miura) is dedicated to mastering the craft of mechanical watchmaking. He encounters the beautiful woman Ruo Lan (played by Liu Shi Shi) by chance at a swimming pool, and at her invitation, A Liang helps her choose a gift for someone else. This chance meeting allows A Liang to get to know Ruo Lan and her twin sister Ru Mei (also played by Liu Shi Shi). Unlike the calm and serene Ruo Lan, Ru Mei, a well-known model, is outgoing and carefree.
