Five years of pursuit turn to dust as the X-Files are shut down, forcing Fox Mulder (David Duchovny) and Dana Scully (Gillian Anderson) to handle mundane cases. One day, an explosion occurs in Dallas, Texas. Although Mulder and Scully do their best to evacuate the people in the building, the explosion claims the lives of four innocent victims, drawing criticism from their superiors. However, shortly after, Mulder discovers that the four victims had died before the explosion, and the so-called bombing was merely a ruse by a mysterious department to cover up evidence. This department is said to have been involved in alien research for years, and their studies could lead to the destruction of humankind. The two partners decide to investigate further, but a mysterious and irresistible force continually obstructs their pursuit of the truth… This film is the first theatrical version of the eponymous American TV drama.
