Following the enthusiastic reception of Disney's 1995 film "A Goofy Movie," Disney decided to release a second installment. Most of the film was produced at Disney's Sydney studio, and the story revolves around Goofy's son, Max, after he goes to college. Compared to the television series and the first movie, Max's age in "Goof Troop" is set at 14; in the first film "A Goofy Movie," he is 16; and in this film, Max is portrayed as being 19 or 20. The focus of the story remains on the generational gap between parent and child.
