A-lu (Reina Takeda) is living with her father (Toshimi Watanabe) after her parents' divorce. Although her father has never cooked before and isn't very good at it, he decides to start making bento for her so that she can have healthy and nutritious lunches. At first, the unskilled father always makes shocking dark cuisine that surprises his daughter. Even though the bento is hard to look at, A-lu still eats it all because it contains her father's love for her. As time goes by, the father's cooking skills improve. Meanwhile, A-lu meets a boy named Yuji (Sho Kiyohara), and they fall in love. At A-lu's request, her father's workload increases as he starts making bento for two. Although the bento becomes more colorful and delicious, A-lu and Yuji's romance eventually comes to an end.
