Professor Oliver Lindenbrook (James Mason) is an adventure enthusiast who is full of anticipation for mysterious treasures. By chance, he discovers an ancient parchment that records a map of the journey taken by a man named Arne to explore the Earth's core. Elated, Professor Lindenbrook decides to embark on a perilous journey to the center of the Earth. Despite strong opposition from his friends, he resolutely sets off with his nephew. Their journey begins in Edinburgh, Scotland, and soon they are joined by Hans (Peter Ronson), a reliable guide from Iceland. The three arrive at the Snæfellsjökull volcano and enter beneath the surface, experiencing bizarre phenomena over a three-month journey, encountering countless strange plants and animals, and even meeting mysterious races.
