Every day, white-collar workers living a two-point line, shop owners who sold their small stores, salespeople burdened with heavy KPIs, and entrepreneurs struggling between success and failure… Eight ordinary people, each with their own stories and dreams, embark on a long-desired journey to Everest under the guidance of skilled local mountaineer and captain Wang Ping. Perhaps, it is also a journey of death. They gather at the south slope of Everest in Nepal, crossing terrifying glaciers with bottomless crevasses, climbing the blue ice walls that rise thousands of meters high, and traversing the "yellow band" of rock faces, gradually approaching the top of the world. Can this Chinese folk climbing team, which was initially dismissed by foreign teams, become the first team in the world to reach the summit of Everest in 2019, despite facing extreme weather conditions during the "window period" and possible traffic jams at the summit? This film is China's first immersive experience documentary about climbing Everest, and it is also a documentary of "highest difficulty" in the history of Chinese cinema—setting a new record for filming with a drone at an altitude of over 8470 meters. The audience will "parachute" into the Everest climbing scene with the camera, going crazy for their passion alongside this group of ordinary people who refuse to be mediocre.
