Previously, Keanu Reeves and Alex Winter confirmed their return to the comedy series [Bill and Ted] for the third installment [Bill and Ted Face the Music], directed by Dean Parisot, with the original screenwriters Chris Matheson and Ed Solomon penning the script. However, recent comments from Reeves cast doubt on whether the film will arrive as scheduled. Reeves revealed this during an interview with "Yahoo Entertainment," stating that due to some behind-the-scenes issues, the film's ability to proceed according to plan is now uncertain. Reeves said, “We have been waiting a long time for this movie, but there are still some ‘challenges.’ I love these characters from the series, the script for the new film is ready, the story is great, but there are still issues with ‘funding, rights, and contracts.’” The first two films in the [Bill and Ted] series, [Bill and Ted's Excellent Adventure] and [Bill and Ted's Bogus Journey], were released in 1989 and 1991, respectively, telling the story of two high school students who embark on time-traveling adventures. The new film revolves around two middle-aged friends who restart their time-travel adventures in search of the "ultimate song." MGM is handling the North American distribution.
