The film is adapted from Alan Glynn's 2001 novel "Dark Fields." The star, Bradley Cooper, was named the world's sexiest man in 2011. Eddie Morra (Bradley Cooper) is a down-and-out, uninspired writer who has lost his job. His estranged brother-in-law provides him with an experimental drug called NZT. After taking it, Eddie finds himself energized, clear-headed, and agile, able to instantly reassemble and infer details and information that normally go unnoticed. When he goes back to find his brother-in-law, he discovers he has been murdered, and chaos ensues as he is pursued by a group of assassins. After narrowly escaping death, Eddie realizes that this new drug, NZT, allows him to unlock 100% of his brain's potential. With the help of NZT, he regains his inspiration and climbs into high society, but along with his success comes deadly consequences: physical ailments and uncontrollable emotions. At this point, Eddie can no longer escape the drug, leading him into a dark realm, while assassins lurk in the shadows...
