Set in 1930s Hollywood, this film tells the story of a military secret weapon that unexpectedly falls into the hands of stunt pilot Cliff Secord. He is intrigued by this rocket pack, and ultimately he straps it on, dons a mask, and becomes the heroic 'Rocketeer'. However, various factions want to seize this secret weapon, particularly a famous Hollywood actor, Neville Sinclair, who is actually a Nazi spy infiltrating Hollywood. To obtain the rocket, he kidnaps Cliff's girlfriend, Jenny Blake, prompting Rocketeer Cliff to launch a rescue mission.
