During World War II, a Moscow Film School graduate named Dmitry (played by Alexander Mercury) is fortunate to receive an order from the great leader Comrade Stalin to follow the reconnaissance platoon led by Novikov (played by Robert Gwilym) as a war photographer to the front lines. His lens captures glimpses of soldiers at leisure and the intense fighting on the battlefield, as well as the monstrous side of these soldiers who have lost their humanity in the crucible of war. In a frigid season, the reconnaissance platoon receives a distress call from the squad code-named Bear Tiger 303, and Novikov leads the team to a remote mining area where the enemy is located. To their shock, the scene there is horrific—corpses lie everywhere, and there are few signs of life, as if the area has recently endured brutal battles. Moreover, the sudden appearance of terrifying zombies further threatens the safety of the reconnaissance platoon. What kind of tragedy has occurred here?
