Jack (played by Henry Thomas) drives drunk at night while chatting on his phone, only to have a body fall from above as he crosses an overpass. Convenient store clerk Duffy (played by Shawn Hatosy) borrows money from his colleague Buz (played by Hillary Swank) due to his girlfriend Shelly (played by Rachel Leigh Cook) getting an abortion. A group of teenagers buys expired donuts from the convenience store, racing at night and throwing donuts at others for fun. Shelly, who plans to break up with Duffy, disobeys her father Frank (played by Patrick Swayze) and sneaks out to have a tryst with her new boyfriend Allen (played by Blake Heron). All these loose events intersect at 11:14, creating a web of cause and effect that leads to an unexpected and incredible conclusion.
