The American version of Power Rangers, the original work of the series, was created after the U.S. company Saban bought the overseas adaptation rights to Japan's Toei Company's "Super Sentai Series" in 1993. Most of the battle scenes are edited from the Japanese version. The first season of American Power Rangers has 60 episodes. The first season is adapted from the 16th work of Toei in 1992, "Kyoryu Sentai Zyuranger," which is why the film was also translated as "Dinosaur Squad" when introduced domestically. However, after the American version, there is one adaptation each year, all based on the teams following the dinosaurs from Japan. American version Power Rangers The second season of American Power Rangers has 52 episodes. In the second season, Lord Zedd appears, banishing Rita into space and personally leading the attack against the team. To respond to this situation, Zordon upgrades the team's Zords from dinosaurs to Thunder Zords. In fact, the robots in the second season are edited from Toei’s 17th team project "Gosei Sentai Dai Ranger," which is a work following the dinosaurs. In the American version, aside from the White Ranger's costume design being inspired by the Dai Rangers, the other members maintain the dinosaur costume design. The third season of American Power Rangers has 38 episodes. The third season is naturally adapted from the 18th team of the Japanese version, "Ninja Sentai Kakuranger," so this season of the American version is full of ninja styles. The last 10 episodes feature an alien team due to the storyline, thus the title was changed to "ALIEN RANGERS," and the costume of the alien team truly reflects that of the ninja team. The complete fourth season of American Power Rangers ZEO. The fourth season is adapted from the Japanese version "Choriki Sentai Ohanger." Starting from this season, the American version began to closely follow the uniform designs of the Japanese version, finally replacing the dinosaur suits worn for three years. The storyline follows the third season, with the command center being destroyed, and the team members discovering ZEO crystals among the ruins. Surprisingly, the crystals were intact, and the command center activated its self-rebuilding system, revealing a new command center. Zordon transforms the ZEO crystals into new powers for the team, marking the introduction of POWER RANGERS ZEO. The enemy is a newly emerged Machine Empire. The American Power Rangers TURBO has a total of 50 episodes (fifth season). The fifth season adapts from the Japanese "Kidō Sentai Sōkō Ranger," so cars are the theme for this season. Mid-story, the team underwent significant changes, with the old members completing their historical missions and passing the baton to newcomers. At the end of the story, the command center is destroyed again, and the team learns of Zordon's capture in space, resolutely flying into the cosmos to rescue him. Following this is the "Space Arc" not introduced domestically, along with the TURBO movie version, detailing the transition from ZEO in the fourth season to TURBO in the fifth season. The American Power Rangers IN SPACE has 43 episodes (sixth season). The sixth season adapts from the Japanese "Denji Sentai Megaranger." The story continues from the last season, where the team arrives in space and meets a new Red Ranger named Andros, thus forming a new SPACE team. The enemy's female leader turns out to be Andros's sister. Ultimately, the Red Ranger finds Zordon, who orders the Red Ranger to break his canister to release a shockwave that destroys most of the enemies, while Rita, Zedd, and the fifth season's villain Divatox are reverted to humans. Andros's sister also regains her memory, marking the end of the early series of the American Power Rangers. From the seventh season, LOST GALAXY onwards, the plot development became independent each year, similar to the Japanese version. The American Power Rangers LOST GALAXY has 45 episodes (seventh season). This seventh season adapts from the Japanese "Seijuu Sentai Gingaman." Starting from this season, each story of the American version is independent. The story takes place on a large immigration ship resembling a space fortress, which contains a city. The American Power Rangers LIGHT SPEED RESCUE has 40 episodes (eighth season). The eighth season adapts from the Japanese "Kyukyu Sentai GoGoFive." The team members are elite recruits selected from various sectors by the military, making this an entirely public organization, unlike previous teams that had to conceal their identities. The American Power Rangers TIME FORCE has 40 episodes (ninth season). The ninth season adapts from the Japanese "Mirai Sentai Timeranger." The Japanese version tells the story of the end of the century in 2000, while the American version is set in 2001, which is a bit odd. This work features two Red Rangers appearing simultaneously for the first time. The American Power Rangers WILD FORCE has 40 episodes (tenth season). This tenth season adapts from the Japanese "Hyakujuu Sentai GaoRanger." The style of the team is very wild, just as its name suggests. Notably, in one episode, nine Red Rangers from previous iterations along with the current Red Ranger appear together to confront the remnants of the Machine Empire. The American Power Rangers NINJA STORM has 38 episodes (eleventh season). The eleventh season adapts from the Japanese "Ninpuu Sentai Hurricaneger," another team with a ninja theme. However, ninjas in an American setting feel a bit off. The American Power Rangers DINO THUNDER has 38 episodes (twelfth season). The twelfth season adapts from the Japanese "Bakuryuu Sentai Abaranger," marking another dinosaur-themed work following the original "Dinosaur Squad." Notably, Jason David Frank, who played Tommy in the first five seasons, returned to reprise his role as the founder and mentor of this team, showing that his skills remain impressive. The American Power Rangers SPD has 38 episodes (thirteenth season). This thirteenth season, produced in 2005, adapts from the Japanese "Tokusou Sentai Dekaranger" released in 2004, with a storyline similar to the Japanese version, but slightly exaggerated. The American Power Rangers MYSTIC FORCE has 32 episodes (fourteenth season). The fourteenth season adapts from the Japanese "Mahou Sentai Magiranger." Possibly influenced by the popularity of "Harry Potter" at that time, this team also features a magical theme, which I personally believe is more suited to the American version. The American Power Rangers OPERATION OVERDRIVE has 31 episodes (fifteenth season). The fifteenth season adapts from the Japanese "GoGo Sentai Boukenger" produced in 2006. There were rumors that the Blue Ranger was played by Kobe Bryant, but it turned out to be an Asian actor. This season marks the 15th anniversary of the American version, so one of the episodes features guest appearances by veterans from previous generations.
