Frankie (played by Adrien Brody) has just finished a long ten-year prison sentence, yet the harsh life behind bars hasn't changed his violent and evil nature. Not long after his release, he begins plotting a big heist as his final showdown. Frankie seeks out his brother James (played by Hayden Christensen), hoping to enlist his help. However, James has turned his life around and become a car mechanic. He plans to build a stable future with his girlfriend Emily (played by Jordana Brewster). Frankie's arrival completely disrupts James' life plans, and seeing his brother's reluctance, Frankie threatens Emily's life, forcing James to comply.
